The area is rich with history including cowboys, gold mining and lost gold mines. Tortilla Campground – Area Recreation & Activities The town of Tortilla Flat is also across the highway and has a restaurant, post office and gift shop. There’s also a marina, boat ramp, boat rentals, restaurant and store a few miles away at Canyon Lake. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and a dump station. Up to 2 vehicles and 10 people allowed per site. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. All of the sites have views of rugged bluffs, saguaro cactus and clear desert skies.Ĭampsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 32 feet). Campsites 1-29 are indefinitely closed, but sites 30-76 are open for reservations from October through April of each year. Tortilla Campground has 76 single-family campsites and a few miles from Canyon Lake in the Tonto National Forest.
